We are seeking a high-energy, tech-forward Finance Manager to serve as the foundational “financial engineer” for a rapidly scaling lifestyle brand. In this role, you will move past traditional, high-level advisory to build and own our financial “record architecture”, ensuring total operational efficiency and strict cost controls.
This is an execution-focused position designed for a hungry, resilient professional who leverages modern FinTech and AI to maximize productivity. You will manage the financial complexities of a multi-entity structure.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategic Growth
- Build and optimize the company’s finance department, including accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting workflows.
- Conduct financial analysis and benchmarking against hospitality/lifestyle industry standards to identify cost-saving and revenue-generating opportunities.
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies, cash flow forecasting, and annual budgets aligned with the company’s expansion and membership goals.
Financial Operations & Management Execution
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
- Leverage existing financial software and tools efficiently, driving automation before proposing new software investments.
- Collaborate with operations and department heads to improve inventory management, labor cost controls, and overall profitability.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, licensing, and financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor and report on weekly and monthly financial performance, delivering clear variance analysis to executive leadership.
- Analyze club-specific metrics (e.g., Member Acquisition Cost, Lifetime Value, retention rates, utilization metrics) to assess the health of the business.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in financial management or controllership, preferably in hospitality, private clubs, luxury retail, or the lifestyle industry.
- Exceptional analytical judgment and high proficiency with modern accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and specialized club/property management systems.
- Strong background in budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and building financial models from scratch.
- Solid understanding of inventory management, cost of goods sold (COGS), and labor optimization in a service-driven environment.
Soft Skills & Cultural Fit
- Self-starter: Able to manage financial cycles independently and meet strict monthly/quarterly closing deadlines without close supervision.
- Mindset: Motivated to scale the finance function and protect the company’s bottom line as the brand grows.
- Results-driven: Comfortable working in a KPI-based environment, focusing on financial health, accuracy, and profitability metrics rather than just time-based tracking.
- Adaptable & proactive: Brings analytical insights, cost-benefit solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives to the leadership team.
